Is economic inequality inevitable?

Unfortunately, economic inequality in society will almost surely continue far into the future. I will focus on three reasons to support this claim.

Firstly, some children have parents who have a lot more time and money to spend on them. So it is likely that they are given better chances than others. These lucky children are given a head start in life and are more likely to have the knowledge and skills to make money.

Secondly, discrimination plays a role in all societies. People with certain backgrounds are treated differently, resulting in different economic outcomes. For example, women still have lower income possibilities than men in most countries, despite pushes for gender equality.

Finally, countries that have attempted an equal income distribution have had limited success.
In one communist country I visited years ago, I walked in a rich neighborhood where important communist officials lived. It was clear that certain members of that society were granted special privileges. Some people might think about a basic income system, in which people will receive exactly the same amount of money, but it is not easy to realize. Even if we can do it, some may want to spend the money while others will invest it and watch their resources grow.

These are the reasons I believe that economic inequality is inevitable.

I disagree with the idea that economic inequality is inevitable.
We should try to reduce the gap and there is a sign that it's going to happen in the not so distant future.
There are two reasons why I believe so.

First, our society may lose valuable assets if we allow economical gap to become wider than now. In some cases, economic inequality is determined by the country or house where you are born. Some people say that children who are from low income house do not have better chances to go to university and end up working to get low salary. If we do not take any steps to solve such a situation, we might lose a lot of human resources who could bring benefits and growth to our society.

Second, in the AI age, our economical situation is more likely to be equal, compared with the past decades. We now face a new phase where artificial intelligence or robots may take place in human beings at work. That means a lot of people may lose their jobs and basic income system may need to be introduced to provide equal income to them.

For these reasons, I believe that there will be less economic equality in the future.

I disagree with the idea that economic inequality in society is inevitable.
I have two reasons why I think it is true.

First, we have an equal opportunity to get some money. Even those who don’t get better salary or are poor people can invest in FX or stock in the market. It will definitely allow them to get some money easily.

Second, I believe education helps people get better job or salary. A few decades ago, there are inequalities to get good education, but nowadays officials or governments in Japan provides their people with equal educational system and opportunity, and some can even get a scholarship. If we make an effort to learn something like about language, expertise and so on, it will enable us to get better salary. I believe that it is evidence that we could have economic equality.

For these reasons, I think economic inequality can be reduced, if we make suitable efforts to get better salary.

I disagree that economic inequality in society is inevitable. I think it’s up to individuals’ own efforts.
I’ll now present two reasons why I believe this to be true.

First, There are many means to learn about making money in public. For instance, text books, references and literature related to economy in a public library are freely available to anyone. Students can gain a scholarship to universities if they can’t afford to pay the tuition. In fact, there are some examples of persons who had great successful stories. One is Masayoshi Son. Even though he was poor in his childhood, he studied business and economics really hard and took high skills and knowledge for making money. Eventually, he started his own company, SoftBank. Steve jobs is another example. He was adopted. Nobody would say he was happy in his childhood. Despite that he overcome adversity, finally he created many mobile devices using state-of-the-art technology.

Second, the much harder or smarter people work, the more their annual income increases.
It is the key that people start the second business besides their main jobs. They can get money from multiple resources. Furthermore, the knowledge, information, skills and relationship accumulated by doing the second business enable us to get a higher salary.

For the above reasons, I think that economic inequality in society could be reduced.

I don’t think economic inequality in society is inevitable. I have three reasons to support my idea.

First, I feel that economic inequality in society is going to be solved. Compared with several decades ago, discrimination is decreasing. Thinking about gender discrimination, lots of women now work with men and have almost the same chance to promotion. Then when it comes to racial discrimination, Barack Obama was chosen US president a few years ago. It would have been unthinkable thirty or forty years ago.

Second, there is a revolutionary answer to solve economic inequality: AI robots. These deal with people equally. So by using them appropriately, we can get a new way of thinking to see people equally.

Finally, economic inequality is hard to define. What does economic inequality really mean? Do you truly think we can’t call the economy equal unless everyone has the same deal, money, and environment? As you know, our characteristic is very different from others. The important thing is that everyone should have the chance to use their skills and beautiful points. In this case this will be solved by globalization. These days, most people can choose their job. I watched on TV that one African became a sushi chef. He learned how to make sushi on YouTube.

For these reasons, I believe that economic inequality in society will be solved.

Although economic inequality is becoming wider these days, I personally think it could be reduced in the future.
I have two reasons.

Firstly, it is becoming easy for many people to make money using their own computers and the Internet. In the past few decades, computer technology has developed rapidly. Computers used to be very expensive so only few people could own one. However, the development of technology has made computers more readily available. Therefore we can do a lot of things, such as writing codes for software and building systems. Even people who live in developing countries can get income if the Internet is available in these areas. That means computers and the Internet will make economic situations better.

Secondly, even though some counties are not so rich, others are able to support them. For example, big countries like the United States have a strong currency and keep a stable economy. They invest in various things. China has decided to invest on→in railway construction in Eastern Europe. Developing countries can get help from other countries to make their economy grow. I order to make it come true, we need more cooperative attitudes among the countries.

These might be difficult to realize right now, but for these two reasons, I believe that economic inequality could be reduced in the near future.

それは僕も例外ではありませんw (I was no exception.)

I disagree with the opinion that economic inequality in society is inevitable. While it might be impossible to achieve perfect economic equality, the gap between the rich and the poor can be narrowed. I will now present two important factors.

First, education plays a big role. The main reason for economic inequality stems from educational inequality. This means that if every student can receive the same kind of education, they will have similar job opportunities, which in turn will provide them with similar salaries. In a nutshell, equal education for all will lead to equal income for all.

Second, the government can adopt a measure to alleviate the disparity between the haves and the have-nots. One way to realize this is by imposing higher taxes on wealthier people and exempting poorer people from all kinds of taxes. In order to convince affluent people of the additional tax burden, the government can use the tax income for such purposes as providing financial aid and scholarships for students in need. This will also help bridge the educational disparity between students with different economic backgrounds.

For these reasons, I believe that economic inequality can be lessened to some extent, even if it cannot be eliminated.
